The City of Norwood Young America and Norwood Young America Economic Development Commission, along with the Central Trades & Advisory Group, are holding the 3rd Annual NYA Manufacturing Today on Wednesday, October 25th. The event will feature 20– 40 minute tours at seven (7) local manufacturers followed by a luncheon at the Willkommen Memorial Pavilion. This is a free event for all.
During the luncheon, a panel of Central High School students will be sharing their experiences with their jobs at local manufacturers, plus Carver County Commissioner John Fahey will share the importance of manufacturing to Carver County. Deputy Director Kate Probert from Carver County CareerForce/WorkForce will also be present to provide information on CareerForce. This Carver County resource helps job seekers of all ages find a career, and employers find the works they need.
Last year’s event was a huge success with about 70 students and a dozen community members in attendance. The intention of this event is to recognize the NYA manufacturers for National Manufacture Month of October and expose future workforce to well-paying jobs opportunities and careers in the NYA area.
Who are the the Central Trades & Advisory Group?
